Grades, Standards and GOST Equivalents
Cold-rolled steel is supplied to JIS G3141 (SPCC, SPCD, SPCE), EN 10130 (DC01-DC06), GB/T 708 and GOST 9045/16523 (08ps, 08Yu, St1-St3). For the Russian market 08ps and 08Yu are the standard grades for automotive and appliance stamping, and we prepare certificates cross-referencing the international grade with the GOST equivalent. Surface options: bright (skin-passed), matte and full-hard, in coil or cut-to-length sheet. Thicknesses from 0.15 to 3.0 mm in widths to 1,500 mm, with slit strip in custom widths. The combination of grade, temper and surface is selected for the customer’s forming process – from simple bending to deep drawing of complex parts.
Manufacturing Process
Cold-rolled steel is produced by rolling hot-rolled pickled coil at room temperature on a tandem cold mill, which reduces the thickness to 0.2-3.0 mm with precise gauge control and a smooth, bright surface. The coil is then annealed (batch or continuous) to restore ductility after cold working, and skin-passed for flatness and surface quality. The result is a material with tight dimensional tolerances, excellent surface finish and uniform mechanical properties – the standard raw material for stamping, forming and painting. We supply cold-rolled coil and sheet in SPCC/DC01 for general use, DC03/DC04 for deep drawing, 08ps/08Yu (GOST) for automotive stamping, and full-hard temper for pipe and profile manufacturing. Slit strip in custom widths from 5 to 600 mm completes the program for precision components.
Applications
- Automotive body and structural parts
- Home appliances and electronics
- Furniture and office equipment
- Precision profiles and lathing
- Sanitary ware and packaging
Applications in Russia and Central Asia
Cold-rolled steel serves the industries that make everyday products. Automakers and their suppliers in Russia use 08ps/08Yu and DC03-DC04 for body panels, structural parts and stamped components, where surface quality and deep-drawing performance are critical. Appliance manufacturers produce refrigerators, washing machines and ovens from SPCC/DC01, often painted or enameled directly on the bright surface. Furniture makers use cold-rolled sheet and strip for office and home furniture, and the construction sector uses full-hard coil for lathing, profiles and cable trays. Kitchenware, sanitary ware and packaging complete the picture. Because the material is supplied in tight tolerances, converters can run high-speed stamping and roll-forming lines without stops.
Quality Control and Testing
Every production stage at the Sino East Steel plant is controlled under an ISO 9001:2015 quality management system. Depending on the product, each batch is tested for chemical composition and mechanical properties (yield strength, tensile strength, elongation), dimensional accuracy, surface quality and, where applicable, hydrostatic pressure, weld seam integrity, zinc coating thickness and paint adhesion. All testing is performed in our laboratory and, when the project requires, witnessed by independent inspectors from SGS, Bureau Veritas or TUV Rheinland. Each shipment is accompanied by a Mill Test Certificate (MTC) per EN 10204 3.1 with heat numbers, so every tonne can be traced back to its production date, heat and chemical analysis. This documentation is prepared in a form accepted by customs authorities in Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Belarus, and can be adapted to GOST-based reporting when the buyer’s quality department requires it.
Documents and Compliance for Russia and the EAEU
All goods are supplied with a complete export documentation set prepared for smooth customs clearance in the Russian Federation and the Eurasian Economic Union: Mill Test Certificate (MTC) per EN 10204 3.1 with heat numbers and chemical analysis, Certificate of Origin form ST-1 (which qualifies for duty-free import within the EAEU), commercial invoice, packing list and bill of lading or railway consignment note. Where the project is subject to the EAEU Technical Regulations, we support the EAC certification process and provide the technical passport, test reports and conformity documentation required by the importing party. For products supplied against Russian design standards we prepare documentation referencing the relevant GOST equivalents (for example GOST 3262 for galvanized pipe, GOST 8732 for seamless pipe, GOST 30245 for hollow sections), so your quality department and the customs broker receive everything on the day the vessel or train arrives.
Logistics to Russia and Central Asia
Sea freight from Tianjin and Xingang ports to St. Petersburg, Novorossiysk, Vladivostok and the Baltic ports takes 30-45 days, with container and break-bulk options for project volumes. For Central Asia we ship container rail trains via the Dostyk and Khorgos border crossings to Almaty, Astana, Tashkent, Samarkand, Bishkek, Osh, Dushanbe and Ashgabat in 25-40 days. We quote on FOB Tianjin/Xingang, CFR, CIF, or DAP terms to your warehouse, consolidate several product lines in one container to reduce the freight cost per tonne, and agree the shipment schedule with your project calendar. A Russian-speaking sales team follows your order from specification to customs clearance, prepares the transit documentation for rail corridors, and coordinates with your forwarding agent at the destination. For regular buyers we offer scheduled programs with fixed prices for the contract period, protecting your project budget from market volatility.
Packaging and Loading
Cold-rolled coil is packed on steel pallets with waterproof wrapping, edge protectors and steel strapping; cut sheets are stacked in bundles with protective interleaving paper to protect the surface. Each coil or bundle carries a label with the grade, temper, dimensions and coil number. Coils are loaded in containers on cradles, sheets in palletized bundles with dunnage. The documentation – MTC per EN 10204 3.1 with GOST cross-reference, ST-1 certificate, invoice and packing list – is prepared for EAEU customs clearance.
The Cold-Rolled Market in Russia and Central Asia
The Russian cold-rolled market is driven by the automotive industry, home appliances and construction. Local car plants and their suppliers consume large volumes of cold-rolled sheet for stamping, and the appliance industry adds steady demand for bright-finish coil. The construction sector uses full-hard coil for profiles and lathing. Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, with growing manufacturing sectors, import cold-rolled sheet and strip for packaging, appliances and furniture. Because domestic production focuses on standard grades, the market for deep-drawing grades (DC03-DC06, 08Yu) and precision strip is partially supplied by imports. Sino East Steel supplies cold-rolled coil, sheet and strip directly to automotive suppliers, appliance plants and steel service centers across the EAEU.
How to Choose the Right Cold-Rolled Steel
Match the grade to the forming severity: SPCC/DC01 for bending and light forming, DC03/DC04 for deep drawing, DC05/DC06 or SPCE for extreme forming such as oil pans and complex body parts. For Russian projects specify 08ps or 08Yu and confirm the GOST mapping. Choose the surface by the final use: bright for painted or plated products, matte for non-visible parts, and full-hard for applications that do not require forming. Confirm the gauge tolerance and the coil dimensions with your stamping or roll-forming line. For painted products, request skin-passed material with controlled surface roughness for consistent paint appearance.
Why Buy Cold-Rolled Steel Direct from the Factory
Sino East Steel supplies cold-rolled steel from partner mills under our own quality control, with certificates cross-referenced to GOST 9045/16523 for the Russian market. Factory-direct pricing and consolidated shipments reduce the landed cost for converters and service centers. Our technical team helps select the right grade and temper for your forming process, and regular supply programs allow production planning without inventory risk.
