Grades, Standards and Finishes

Nails are supplied to ASTM F1667, GB/T 20666 and the dimensional series of the destination market. Finishes: bright, electro-galvanized (blue/white), hot-dip galvanized, phosphate (blue/black) and painted. Head and point types: flat head, countersunk, umbrella head, diamond point, needle point. Diameters from 1.8 to 5.5 mm and lengths from 25 to 150 mm. Packaging: 5/10/25 kg cartons, plastic buckets or steel pails, palletized per the buyer’s specification. Hardness is matched to the application: common nails in wire hardness for general construction, concrete nails hardened to 40-50 HRC for masonry. For the Russian market we prepare certificates per GOST 4028 (construction nails) and GOST 4034 (roofing nails).

Manufacturing Process

Steel nails are produced on high-speed automatic nail-making machines: wire is fed, cut to length, headed and pointed in a single stroke, producing up to several hundred nails per minute per machine. The nails are then tumbled to remove burrs, and finished with bright, electro-galvanized, hot-dip galvanized or phosphate coating. Galvanized nails are coated in automatic lines with controlled coating thickness, and coil nails are collated with wire or plastic strips for pneumatic nailing. The plant produces common nails, box nails, roofing (umbrella) nails, concrete nails, U staples and duplex formwork nails from 25 to 150 mm in length, with hardness matched to the application – hardened concrete nails are heat-treated for penetration into concrete and masonry. Each batch is tested for hardness, tensile strength, coating and dimensions, with the MTC issued per ASTM F1667.

Applications

  • Construction and framing
  • Roofing and cladding
  • Pallets and crates
  • Fencing and outdoor structures
  • Formwork and shuttering

Applications in Construction and Industry

Nails are consumed in enormous volumes by construction and packaging industries. Russian construction sites use common and box nails for framing, formwork and crating; duplex (double-headed) nails are the standard for temporary formwork because they pull out easily. Roofing contractors use umbrella-head galvanized nails for roofing felt and membrane fixing. The pallet and crate industry consumes common nails in large volumes. Fencing and agricultural uses add galvanized and U staples. Concrete nails are specified for fixing into concrete and masonry in renovation and interior works. The fastener market in the region relies on imported nails for volume supply, and Sino East Steel supplies directly to hardware distributors and construction suppliers.

Quality Control and Testing

Every production stage at the Sino East Steel plant is controlled under an ISO 9001:2015 quality management system. Depending on the product, each batch is tested for chemical composition and mechanical properties (yield strength, tensile strength, elongation), dimensional accuracy, surface quality and, where applicable, hydrostatic pressure, weld seam integrity, zinc coating thickness and paint adhesion. All testing is performed in our laboratory and, when the project requires, witnessed by independent inspectors from SGS, Bureau Veritas or TUV Rheinland. Each shipment is accompanied by a Mill Test Certificate (MTC) per EN 10204 3.1 with heat numbers, so every tonne can be traced back to its production date, heat and chemical analysis. This documentation is prepared in a form accepted by customs authorities in Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Belarus, and can be adapted to GOST-based reporting when the buyer’s quality department requires it.

Documents and Compliance for Russia and the EAEU

All goods are supplied with a complete export documentation set prepared for smooth customs clearance in the Russian Federation and the Eurasian Economic Union: Mill Test Certificate (MTC) per EN 10204 3.1 with heat numbers and chemical analysis, Certificate of Origin form ST-1 (which qualifies for duty-free import within the EAEU), commercial invoice, packing list and bill of lading or railway consignment note. Where the project is subject to the EAEU Technical Regulations, we support the EAC certification process and provide the technical passport, test reports and conformity documentation required by the importing party. For products supplied against Russian design standards we prepare documentation referencing the relevant GOST equivalents (for example GOST 3262 for galvanized pipe, GOST 8732 for seamless pipe, GOST 30245 for hollow sections), so your quality department and the customs broker receive everything on the day the vessel or train arrives.

Logistics to Russia and Central Asia

Sea freight from Tianjin and Xingang ports to St. Petersburg, Novorossiysk, Vladivostok and the Baltic ports takes 30-45 days, with container and break-bulk options for project volumes. For Central Asia we ship container rail trains via the Dostyk and Khorgos border crossings to Almaty, Astana, Tashkent, Samarkand, Bishkek, Osh, Dushanbe and Ashgabat in 25-40 days. We quote on FOB Tianjin/Xingang, CFR, CIF, or DAP terms to your warehouse, consolidate several product lines in one container to reduce the freight cost per tonne, and agree the shipment schedule with your project calendar. A Russian-speaking sales team follows your order from specification to customs clearance, prepares the transit documentation for rail corridors, and coordinates with your forwarding agent at the destination. For regular buyers we offer scheduled programs with fixed prices for the contract period, protecting your project budget from market volatility.

Packaging and Loading

Nails are packed in 5/10/25 kg cartons, plastic buckets or steel pails, with inner polyethylene bags, and palletized with stretch film. Each carton carries a label with the type, size, finish, quantity and country of origin. Container loading is calculated by package weight and dimensions for maximum utilization. The documentation includes the MTC, ST-1 certificate, invoice and packing list, prepared for EAEU customs clearance.

The Nail Market in Russia and Central Asia

The fastener market in Russia and Central Asia is large and fragmented, supplied through hardware distributors and construction supermarkets. Construction activity drives demand for common, box and roofing nails; the pallet industry adds volume consumption; and the DIY retail segment (Leroy Merlin, OBI-type chains) sells packaged nails in high volumes. Because nail production is labor-intensive and domestic capacity is limited, the region imports the majority of its nails from China. Sino East Steel supplies nails to distributors, DIY retailers and industrial users across the EAEU, with consistent quality, packaging and documentation.

How to Choose the Right Nails

Select the type by the application: common nails for general construction and crates, box nails for lighter work, roofing (umbrella) nails for felt and membranes, concrete nails for masonry, duplex nails for formwork. Choose the finish by the environment: bright for indoor, galvanized for exterior and treated lumber, phosphate for concrete nails. Match the diameter and length to the material thickness – the nail should penetrate at least 25 mm into the substrate. For automated nailing, specify coil nails with the correct collation. For Russian projects confirm GOST 4028/4034 dimensions and the certificate format with your purchasing department.

Why Buy Nails Direct from the Factory

Sino East Steel produces nails on high-speed lines with controlled hardness and coating, and packages to the exact specification of distributors and DIY retailers. Factory-direct pricing and consolidated shipments of several types in one container reduce the landed cost, and the documentation – MTC, ST-1 certificate – is prepared for EAEU customs clearance. Our team supports private-label packaging for distributors who sell under their own brand.

How to Order

Ordering is straightforward: (1) send your specification – standard, grade, size range, quantity, destination city or port and required documents; (2) our engineers confirm the correct grade and size, check GOST equivalents if needed and issue a firm offer within 24 hours; (3) after confirmation we book production on the corresponding line (15-25 days for standard items); (4) we arrange independent inspection if required and load the container or vessel with a full packing list; (5) you receive the MTC, ST-1, invoice and shipping documents by email on the day of departure, and our team tracks the cargo until it reaches your warehouse. First orders can be combined with a trial container of several product lines, and long-term partners receive preferential pricing and fixed-price contracts.
